300: Rise of an Empire 2014
In this relentless war between the Persians and the pride of Greece, the Athenians, we will witness the Artemis War. As a continuation of the movie “300 Spartans”, the new heroes in this film are Xerxes, the bloodthirsty king of the Persians, and Themistocles, the great warrior of Athens. The first movie showed us how only 300 men stood against hundreds of enemies, emphasizing the importance of discipline. While King Leonidas of Sparta and his right hand man fought off the Persian army with a small unit of soldiers in the mountains of Thermopylae, Themistocles was preparing the Greek army to fight against the Persians. Despite all efforts, the proud and honorable 300 men eventually died, and Xerxes managed to invade the capital of Greece, Athens. As Themistocles prepares to enter this war with confidence, he will realize that he faces a very different enemy than his other foes. That enemy is Artemisia, a ruthless woman who has managed to become the leader of the Persian army with her cunning and intrigues. Her hatred towards the Greeks makes her even more dangerous. In order to defeat the Persian army, Themistocles will have to unite his forces with ancient Greek rivals, including the mighty Spartans. Directed by Noam Murro, the main cast includes Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro, and Eva Green.
