A.C.A.B. – All Cops Are Bastards 2012
ACAB, initially used during the miners’ strikes in England in the 1940s, is a code that stands for “Always Carry a Bible.” The film revolves around three special forces (referred to as “quick police” by the Italians) and how they react to a world full of violence in a proportional/disproportional manner. In a society dominated by hatred and despair, aggression levels are lost, and our police officers try to find excuses for their behavior when they need to testify. Given the subtle stance of today’s state and law enforcement agencies that do not hesitate to impose their power through fear and brute force, it is not clear whether ACAB is a propaganda attempt to show sympathy towards the police. We will learn of a work or film that can teach us political correctness in the world and in Turkey when we watch it. Translation summary by: Murat TÜRKER.
