Austrian Franz Jägerstätter is a conscientious objector who refuses to serve in the military and fight for the Nazis during World War II. As an Austrian peasant farmer, he faces the threat of being hanged for treason, but his love and belief in his wife Fani and their children are the only things that keep his spirit alive.
