A Shot in the Dark 1964
When the maid Marie Gambbrelli, serving the wealthy Parisian Benjamin Ballon, is caught holding a gun to her lover’s body, Inspector Jacques Clouzot, known for the Pink Panther case, is mistakenly hired to solve the mystery. Despite all evidence pointing otherwise, Clouseau is enchanted by the young and beautiful Marie and refuses to see the truth. Meanwhile, Chief Inspector Dreyfus is tearing his hair out, wondering why no one else can see that Clouseau is a complete nuisance and troublemaker. And when Marie is caught again at the murder scene with the body of gardener Ballon, and another maid Dudyu’s body is found, all eyes will be on the young woman and it seems Clouseau will stubbornly pursue the truth.
