After a horrific wave capsized the boat, they drifted for 119 days until they reached Great Barrier Island. The 2015 film Abandoned, directed by John Laing and starring Dominic Purcell, follows this harrowing tale of survival, adventure, and suspense. The movie was released on May 3, 2016.
