Across the Universe 2007
A love story of 33 Beatles songs. Jude, who goes from Liverpool to New York to search for his missing father, finds himself in the midst of anti-war protests and rock ‘n roll when his path crosses with Lucy. With the guidance of “Dr. Robert” (Bono) and “Mr. Kite” (Eddie Izzard), Jude and Lucy are taken from the Greenwich Village where the muses roam to Detroit, becoming part of the rebellions with flags waving in the streets. Jude’s brother Max goes to Vietnam and forces the couple to discover other truths beyond the pink cloud they were floating on. According to the director, “Across the Universe” is not just a nostalgic and romantic love story, but also a story that questions the world order and has a contemporary counterpart.
