After a terrifying car accident, Anna wakes up to find funeral director Elliot Deacon preparing her body for her own funeral. Confused and scared but still very much alive, Anna refuses to believe she is dead; Deacon, on the other hand, believes she is. Convinced that she can communicate with the dead and that he is the only one who can help her, Elliot persuades Anna to stay at the funeral home. With no other choice but to trust Elliot, Anna must confront her deepest fears and come to terms with her own death. However, as the funeral approaches, Anna’s boyfriend Paul begins to suspect that Elliot may not be who he claims to be. As Paul uncovers the unsettling truth, Anna may already be well on her way to completing her transition to the other side.
