In the San Fernando Valley, drug dealer Jake Mazursky fails to pay his debt to Johnny Truelove, leading to a power struggle. Johnny and his gang kidnap Jake’s 15-year-old brother Zach in retaliation. As they take Zach on a journey to Palm Springs, they decide to keep him as a hostage. However, they start including him in their daily activities, treating him as if it’s normal. Zach begins to enjoy the wild summer fantasy he has always dreamed of, unaware of his true situation. Meanwhile, Johnny’s father tries to figure out what his son is up to, suspecting the truth. As the situation spirals out of control, Johnny finds himself in a dangerous predicament with no clear way out. Sharon Stone plays Zach’s distraught mother who calls the police, further complicating the situation. Johnny must now face the harsh consequences of his actions, realizing the true extent of the danger he is in.
