In 1797, William Wilberforce fights to abolish slavery in England despite his failing health. With the support of his new love, Barbara Spooner, and a few allies like John Newton, William Pitt, and Olauda Equiano, he continues his battle for social justice. Wilberforce, a former slave ship captain turned remorseful priest, believes that with new ideas and the support of Barbara, he can achieve a great victory in his fight against racism.
