Storyline

Apocalypse Now 1979

The film “Apocalypse Now” tells the story of a man tasked with killing a man declared as a god by a local tribe. Captain Willard and his team’s mission is to kill Colonel Walter Kurtz, who has rebelled against the American army in Vietnam and ruthlessly rules over a jungle tribe. As Willard tracks down Kurtz, he begins to resemble the man he is following, becoming a victim of the brutalities of war. Adapted by Francis Ford Coppola from Joseph Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness” and his wife’s notes, the film is considered one of the most famous war movies in cinema history. Coppola reimagined the story from the book to fit the Vietnam War.
