JC Wyatt, a successful New York City businesswoman known as “The Kaplan Woman,” receives news that she has inherited from her cousin who lives in another city. She initially thinks it’s money, but it turns out to be a child. Shocked at first, JC becomes angry at the thought of having a child, leading her to break up with her boyfriend who believes a baby will disrupt their lives. JC’s life takes a drastic turn as she begins to live with the child, purchase a cabin in Vermont, and leave her demanding New York City job to spend her days making applesauce from the trees in her garden. However, the monotony of village life eventually makes career-driven JC unhappy, prompting her to decide to return to New York City. But the applesauce that the child loves gains popularity among the locals, leading JC to decide to sell the sauce. Along the way, she falls in love at first sight with a veterinarian. Is it fate or just luck?
