Robert Stroud was sentenced to life in prison. One day, a wounded bird comes into his cell and he nurses it back to health. As he becomes an expert on birds, Stroud’s interest in them grows. Despite harsh conditions in prison, he continues to care for birds. Transferred to Alcatraz, Stroud’s passion for birds only deepens.
