Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) 2014
Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s film Birdman, released in 2014, is a comedy-drama that had its premiere on August 27, 2014 in Venice. The film, starring Michael Keaton, Zach Galifianakis, and Edward Norton, was released in the US on October 17, 2014 and in Turkey on February 27, 2015. The film, written by the director himself, follows the story of Riggan, a former movie star who suffers an unexpected accident during a theater performance. With the help of his friend Jake and Lesley, a new lead actor, Mike Shiner, is brought in. As Mike prepares for his role, he must also navigate his relationships with his actress girlfriend Laura, his daughter Sam who works as his assistant, and his perfectionist wife Sylvia.
