Bonnie & Clyde 2013
Bonnie and Clyde, the notorious criminals of the United States with a great love between them, became heroes by robbing banks and stores during the economic depression of the 1930s. They were seen as modern-day Robin Hoods by those who were struggling outside the bounds of capitalism. While people whose lives were darkened by the economic crisis were almost happy to be robbed by the young lovers, the authorities did not share the same sentiment. The real weapons, a 1897 Winchester light machine gun and a shotgun, were seized during a police raid on Bonnie and Clyde’s infamous home on April 13, 1933, and have been displayed at the Springfield Police Museum ever since, up for auction in Kansas.
