Bottle Rocket 1996
After being discharged from a psychiatric hospital, Anthony joins his aimless friend Dignan in a life of uncertain purpose. Dignan, who fancies himself as the leader of a crime gang, persuades Anthony to commit a robbery with their neighbor Bob. The trio’s botched crime forces them to flee to a hotel, where Anthony falls for Inez, a hotel worker. As they navigate their own unique dreams and aspirations, the film touches on themes of family misunderstandings and isolation. With a cast of quirky characters and a heartwarming love story, this road movie marks a successful directorial debut for Wes Anderson.
