29-year-old ambitious reporter Christine’s story takes place in Florida in 1974. Christine is well aware of her reporting skills and the struggles women face in advancing their careers in the 70s. She puts in a lot of effort to get promoted at work, but her love for a coworker and her chaotic personal life start to distract her. When the ratings of the channel she works for drop, the channel manager demands more sensational and emotionally manipulative stories. However, this goes against Christine’s journalistic principles. But due to intense competition, she must compromise her principles and give people what they want.
