Chronicle 2012

In 1985, a young writer and director from Los Angeles made his debut feature film, a supernatural film that was well received and has become a cult favorite. Despite being Josh Trank’s first directorial effort, the film has garnered a rating of 7.1 on IMDb, with nearly 200,000 ratings. The successful director is now behind the camera for the Fantastic Four films. The story, written by young writer Max Landis, features relatively unknown actors at the time, including Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell, and Michael B. Jordan. The film, which blends science fiction, excitement, thriller, and drama, was made with a budget of $12 million in the US and UK. It premiered at the Gérardmer Film Festival in January 2012, followed by releases in the US in February and in Turkey in April, ultimately grossing around $126 million worldwide.

Three mischievous high school friends stumble upon an underground crater that grants them supernatural powers. As they discover their ability to move objects with their minds and even fly, one of them loses control and endangers lives. All the while, their actions are captured on camera.
