Nuovo Cinema Paradiso 1988

Salvatore, now a famous director, returns to his hometown after 30 years upon hearing the news of a friend’s death. As he arrives in the village, memories flood back for Salvatore, who remembers his relationship with Alfred, who worked as a projectionist at Cinema Paradiso. As a child, Salvatore spent his days talking about films with Alfred, learning from his experience and knowledge. Through Alfred’s paternal nature, Salvatore discovers his love and passion for cinema. Giuseppe Tornatore’s masterpiece Cinema Paradiso, with its warmth and summer film culture, is close to Turkish cinema culture. The film won the Jury Special Prize at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival and subsequently brought the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar to its country.
