Gaspar Noe, the director of Irreversible, Enter the Void, and I Stand Alone, takes us on a hypnotic, hallucinatory, and ultimately spine-chilling journey through a party spiraling into madness on a winter night. In this film, a young dance troupe gathers in an empty school building in a remote location to rehearse. After a memorable opening performance shot by cinematographer Benoît Debie and director Gaspar Noé himself, the dancers start drinking sangria laced with LSD without their knowledge. Noé follows their journey from joy to chaos and full-blown anarchy, observing their loves, enemies, and violence in the midst of a collective psychedelic crisis. Starring Sofia Boutella and professional dance actors, Climax is a 2018 French, Belgian, and American co-production film that blends drama, horror, and music genres. It was awarded at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
