A police officer tells you to do something, you do it, right? But where does obedience to authority end? Premiering at Sundance, The Obedience is inspired by a real-life incident, proving that reality can sometimes be stranger than fiction. One day, a police officer calls Sandra, who works at a fast food restaurant in northern Ohio. According to the caller, a young woman named Becky, who works at the restaurant, stole money from a customer. Sandra trusts the police on the phone and follows their instructions to the letter, taking Becky hostage. What follows is a rapidly escalating nightmare that pushes the boundaries of madness.
