Copying Beethoven 2006
Young Anna Holtz (Diane Kruger) dreams of becoming a great composer. To pursue her dream and build a successful music career, she travels to Vienna, the music capital of the world at the time. While studying at the conservatory, she gets the opportunity to work with the greatest and most talented composer of the time, Ludwig van Beethoven (Ed Harris), who is in the final stages of completing his 9th Symphony. Their collaboration proves to be challenging as Beethoven is a difficult mentor. When the producer Wenzel Schlemmer (Ralph Reyach) passes away, he offers Anna the opportunity to help finish the symphony. Anna accepts the offer, seeing it as a chance to prove her talent. As they work together, a unique bond forms between Anna and Beethoven. Anna is faced with a choice between her longtime partner Martin (Matthew Goode) and Beethoven. She tries to escape Vienna but fails, realizing her fate is intertwined with Beethoven’s.
