Mick Dundee, his girlfriend Sue, and their 9-year-old son Mikey are living a peaceful and relaxed life in a remote town in Australia. One day, Sue is called to the Los Angeles office of her father’s newspaper. They want her to take on the suspiciously deceased bureau chief role. Sue, Mick, and their son move to Los Angeles. However, their life there does not go as planned.
