Dan Ashburn (Carrel), a single father and a famous columnist offering advice to those in trouble with their articles, falls in love with Beth (Binoche) whom he meets at a family gathering. Beth is beautiful, graceful, and funny but there is a problem: Beth is the girlfriend of Dan’s brother! Will Dan be able to follow his own advice to his readers?
