Robespierre led the Committee of Public Safety and carried out many executions, spreading terror in the country. When Danton learned about this, he returned to Paris in November 1973, potentially linked to the country’s division. With the support of his followers, Danton found himself at odds with his former allies. However, Robespierre tried to capture Danton and his associates, intending to execute them by guillotine in front of a revolutionary court.
