In 1994, two young twins are brutally murdered at a summer house. A few clues point to a group of upper-class students attending a boarding school nearby, but the case is closed when a local confesses to the crime. Twenty years later, the same case lands on Carl Mørck’s desk and he realizes something went wrong with the investigation. As Carl and Assad start looking into the case, they come across an urgent call from a desperate girl named Kimmie who seems to know the secrets of the murders. However, they will have to deal with upper-class individuals who will go to great lengths to silence Kimmie.
