Dheepan, a man, a woman, and a girl posing as a family to escape the ending civil war in Sri Lanka, seek refuge as refugees in France. Placed in a housing project outside Paris, they struggle to overcome cultural clashes as immigrants while dealing with daily violence and family issues.
