Dorian Gray 2009
Film The Picture of Dorian Gray focuses on the relationship between Lord Henry, Dorian, and evil/hedonism. Dorian’s transformation from a good, handsome man begins with the words of Lord Henry, and he sees his own beauty in his portrait. Believing that there is nothing better than pleasure and sin, Dorian thinks that youth and beauty are more important than anything else in the world. Basil is openly passionate about Dorian, who represents goodness. The Picture of Dorian Gray is a story about a person’s growth and self-discovery, beliefs, and development. The focus is on a young person rather than an old person. Basil was the only one who saw the change in the portrait, Dorian’s big secret. Dorian was so focused on the portrait that he sold his soul for eternal youth and worried that his soul would die. Was there any hope for salvation? Oscar Wilde thought The Picture of Dorian Gray was a story about the soul.
