The director of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert returns with this funny comedy ten years later… On the beach, he meets and marries sexy American racing driver Larita (Jessica Biel). John and Larita will live in London, but they have to stay with John’s mother until they find a house. This will be the occasion for Larita to meet her mother-in-law Veronica. Veronica (Kristin Scott Thomas) is an extremely traditional mother. Unlike her husband Colonel Whittaker (Colin Firth), she is a free and calm person. Having deeply experienced the drama of World War I, introverted Veronica lives her life far from greed and passion. The meeting of the bride and mother-in-law will be more difficult than expected. Veronica is on edge as soon as she sees her new daughter-in-law. No matter how hard Larita tries, nothing works. The mother-in-law tries to bring out the negative sides of the past and Larita’s character at every opportunity. Minds compete in a conflict between Larita, who wants to save her marriage, and Veronica, who wants to maintain her position, reputation, and power.
