Escape from New York 1981
In 1997, New York City has been turned into a giant outdoor prison surrounded by walls and barbed wire due to rising crime rates. Escapees are shot on sight and the most heinous criminals are thrown in, condemned to an anarchic and brutal life. The bridges connecting Manhattan to the mainland have been blown up and mined. When the US President’s plane Air Force 1 is hijacked by terrorists and the President crash-lands in New York in an escape pod, former soldier turned reluctant killer Snake Plissken is forced to make a deal to rescue him. A explosive device is implanted in Snake’s arm and he is sent to New York to find and deliver the President within 24 hours. If he completes this impossible mission on time, Snake’s own life will be spared.
