Nicolas, a ten-year-old boy, lives on an island with only women and male children, including his mother. At a hospital by the ocean, mysterious treatment is being given to all the male children. Questioning the treatment and the events around him, Nicolas realizes that his mother has been lying to him. One night, he follows his mother to the beach and is shocked by what he sees. But what he witnesses is just the beginning of a nightmare. In his desperate struggle, a helping hand reaches out to him, belonging to Stella, a young nurse at the hospital.
