Unemployed writer Bill from London becomes obsessed with learning about people’s lives for his new novel. He follows them, sneaking into their homes to gather details. One of the people he follows, a well-dressed stranger named Cobb, turns out to be a notorious criminal. When Cobb realizes he is being watched by Bill, things take a deadly turn, plunging Bill into the dark underworld of crime.
