Ann (Naomi Watts), George (Tim Roth), and their son Georgie (Devon Gearhart) go on a short vacation to their lakeside cottage. Upon their arrival, they sense something strange about their neighbors Fred and Eve. The next morning, they decide to go golfing. While George and Georgie work on fixing their sailboat, Ann starts preparing a meal. In the meantime, a young and polite man named Peter (Brady Corbet) from Eve’s house comes to ask for eggs. Suspicious of Peter, Ann hesitates to deliver the eggs, leading to tense moments for the family.
