Game of Death 1978
The Game of Death is a film that was made after Bruce Lee’s most famous film Enter the Dragon, which he had been working on in Hollywood for a long time. Unfortunately, Game of Death remained unfinished due to his death, and the director who took over the project played with the script and sometimes completed the film using a cardboard mask of Bruce Lee and occasionally using a stunt double. As a result, the film was shot in 1973 and was not released until 1978, with a stunt double completing the remaining scenes due to Bruce Lee’s death. The Game of Death is far from being the original work that Bruce Lee meticulously developed and completed under studio pressure. Bruce Lee managed to shoot approximately 100 minutes of unusable scenes before his death for the film. However, on the other side of the story; in this section directed by Lee, there were also fight scenes with different fighting style experts on each floor of a 5-story temple. However, only the last three floors of this 5-story temple could be used. Especially in the fight with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Lee’s student), it is said that the fight sequence shown after the two of them fought was difficult to believe as the camera had to slow down to follow the movements. The 7’2″ tall man almost fought with Lee, who was tall, as if he had one leg.
