Gangs of New York 2002
In the mid-1800s, a violent war rages between two gangs in the outskirts of Manhattan, USA. One group consists of American immigrants while the other is made up of Irish Catholics who migrated to the area later. The natives are led by a ruthless leader named Butcher Bill, while the Irish immigrants are led by a leader of the Dead Rabbits. During a bloody battle between them, the leader of the Irish gang is killed and his son, Amsterdam Vallon, witnesses his father’s death. Amsterdam must seek revenge against his father’s killer and take control of the city. Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film stands out for its large ensemble cast.
