Germinal 1993
Etienne Lantier arrives in a small mining town in northern France in search of work. He joins a group of starving workers and toils in the mines from dawn till dusk. Determined to improve their working conditions, Etienne decides to organize a strike. Amidst all the hardships, he falls in love with a girl named Ekaterina. However, things do not go as planned and the two lovers face an unexpected fate.
