Senior gangster Chili Palmer (John Travolta) has made a name for himself as a gangster. When he goes to Los Angeles to collect the debts of a bankrupt film producer (Gene Hackman), Chili immerses himself in Hollywood; he meets a movie star (Danny DeVito), falls in love with a B-movie queen (Rene Russo), and even manages to secure a table at the city’s hottest restaurants. If the drug dealers and angry gangsters leave him alone, this new super producer is actually doing pretty well. But this is Hollywood and no one can promise you that everything will be easy!
