Girl with a Pearl Earring 2003
In 1665 in Holland, seventeen-year-old Grit (Scarlett Johansson) is forced to work to support her family after her father is blinded in a work accident and becomes a servant in the home of painter Johannes Vermeer (Colin Firth). Despite their different upbringing, education, and social standing, Vermeer notices Grit’s ability to perceive colors and light, drawing her into the mysterious world of his paintings.
