GoldenEye

Storyline

GoldenEye 1995

Ian Fleming’s seventeenth Bond film Goldeneye, directed by Martin Campbell, stars Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, facing off against the villain played by Sean Bean. When generals Umurov (Gottfried John) and Xenia (Famke Janssen) steal a powerful helicopter prototype from a secret radar base in Russia, Bond is the only survivor left to stop them. Bond must thwart the plans of former MI5 agent Alec Trevelyan, who is determined to use the secret weapon against his own country. The film, not directed by a British director for the first time until 1995, made history by casting Judi Dench as the first female “M” in the Bond series. Tina Turner sings the traditional Bond theme song, and the film received BAFTA nominations for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound.
