Good Night, and Good Luck. 2005
Good Night, and Good Luck is a story set in the early days of radio-television journalism in 1950s America. It follows the clash between journalist Edward R. Murrow and Senator Joseph McCarthy and the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Murrow, along with his dedicated team at CBS, takes on McCarthy’s anti-communist crusade, challenging the lies and pressure put on the company and its sponsors. As McCarthy accuses the main news anchor of being a communist, public hostility grows. Despite facing retaliation and fear, Murrow and his team stand firm, eventually exposing McCarthy’s tactics and leaving him weakened. However, they pay a heavy price, with their program getting suspended.
