High school students Troy and Gabriella, who are in love with each other, find themselves working at a holiday resort thanks to Sharpay’s help. Troy is initially hesitant about the idea, but soon discovers that Gabriella is also working at the same resort. Sharpay, who is worried about their relationship, tries to separate them by entering a Talent Show competition with Troy. With the support of their friends Chad, Taylor, Martha, and Kelsey, Sharpay’s plan is foiled and Troy and Gabriella are able to perform in the Talent Show.
