Two directors who have had a maximum influence on the direction a branch of art is heading towards are Alfred Hitchcock and François Truffaut. A bridge has been established between the two: Truffaut’s book Hitchcock/Truffaut, compiled from a 3-day interview with Hitchcock in 1966. Kent Jones’ documentary Hitchcock/Truffaut poses a question to the current great directors of cinema: “How did this book affect your view of cinema?” Fincher, Schrader, Scorsese, Assayas, Bogdanovich, and many others pay tribute to the two great directors in one of the most anticipated documentaries of the year.
