Hollywoodland 2006
On June 16, 1959, the bright days of Hollywood came to an end with the death of George Reeves, the Man of Steel from The Adventures of Superman, played by Oscar-winning Ben Affleck. Found dead in his home in Hollywood Hills from a gunshot wound, Reeves leaves behind a young bride, millions of grieving fans, and a mother, Helen Bessolo, played by Lois Smith. Only his mother will witness his death and search for unanswered questions. While LAPD closes the case demanding Helen to find the culprit or at least provide an answer, she makes a deal with private detective Louis Simo, played by Oscar-winning Adrien Brody. Simo, who will eventually unravel the knot, discovers that Reeves was in a heated relationship with Toni Mannix, the wife of MGM studio director Eddie Mannix, played by Oscar-nominated Bob Hoskins.
