Birdie has always lived with hope, married her teenage love, and created a happy home with their child. However, almost everything in her life is a lie. Her closest friend has betrayed her with the person she loves the most. She confesses this on a TV show they appeared on together. With nowhere else to go, she returns to the city where she was born. But everyone there has seen the program. There is no sanctuary from life anymore. Taking her daughter with her, she goes back to the city where she grew up with her mother. Tough times lie ahead for Birdie and her daughter. Her mother is a strange woman. Her father has lost the ability to recognize anyone due to a brain hemorrhage. Her sister went to Hollywood and left her son with their mother. Birdie stays at home and avoids people. During this time, Justin, whom she met through her mother, has tried to start a new life elsewhere but failed and returned. In a time when things are going badly, Justin becomes Birdie’s new strength and hope.
