In June 1939, the king and queen of England visit American President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in New York for the first time in history. With the looming war in Europe causing concern in England, they are seeking allies. Leaders hope to secure America’s support during the two-day visit, working to bring the two nations closer together. Through the eyes of Roosevelt’s neighbor and confidante Daisy, this weekend not only marks the beginning of a special relationship between two nations but also the birth of a mysterious love and friendship.
