In Darkness is a film from 2011 that tells the story of Leopold Soch, a sewer worker and small-time thief in the Nazi-occupied city of Lvov, Poland, where no one trusts anyone and the poor steal from the poorer. When Leopold encounters a group of Jews, including two small children, in the sewers, he agrees to hide them for a fee. What starts as a simple business arrangement takes an unexpected turn as they all try to avoid certain death during a 14-month period of extreme danger.
