Meggie’s father Mo has an extraordinary ability – when he reads aloud, the characters from the book come to life. When Mo reads Inkheart to Meggie as a child, he discovers his power. Dustfinger, a character who escapes from Inkheart, pursues Mo to return to the book, while the villain Capricorn follows Mo to turn the world into a terrifying place and bring a monster into existence. Mo’s only option is to release his bookworm daughter, Maggie, who is unaware of her own powers, to protect her.
