Award-winning and successful architect Vincent Eastman (Richard Gere) is in turmoil in his personal life. After divorcing his beautiful but cold wife (Sharon Stone), Vincent starts a new relationship with a passionate and lively writer, seeing it as a fresh start. However, Vincent is torn between his emotional future happiness and his 13-year-old daughter from his past.
