Jakob the Liar 1999
Jacob (Robin Williams), a Jew, overhears a radio broadcast while imprisoned in a Nazi camp, learning that Soviet forces are advancing. He returns to the Warsaw ghetto and shares the news with his friend Misha (Lev Schreiber). Misha believes Jacob found the radio and distributed the news despite Nazi restrictions. Instead of revealing the truth, Jacob takes advantage of the misunderstanding and begins spreading his own fabricated news to boost morale.
