Jamón Jamón 1992
The film, directed by Bigas Luna, revolves around a lingerie company in a Spanish city that is the only business in town, producing under the slogan “If you’re a sincere Samson.” The members of the Rich Samson family are actually desperate and sexually starved. Son Louis satisfies the hunger between his attractive girlfriend Sylvia and bar prostitute Sylvia. When José learns that Sylvia is pregnant, he hastily slides a soda bottle cap he found in the trash onto Sylvia’s finger as an engagement ring. José’s feelings for Silvia are more lust than love. But Silvia, who is poor and has only José as her salvation, does not believe in this gesture. José’s mother is too proud of her social status to allow her son to marry the daughter of a prostitute.
