Jimmy’s Hall 2014
Activist Jimmy Gralton, in a time when freedom of expression was impossible, created a “hall” in his own town where people could come together to discuss, learn, and talk about various topics. As he gained popularity, he faced backlash and censorship from certain circles, especially the Catholic Church. After spending ten years in exile in America, Jimmy Gralton returned home in 1932 to a different Ireland. His goal is to save his family’s farm and help his mother. But the story he left unfinished a decade ago will continue. Despite not wanting to confront his old enemies like the Church and landowners again, circumstances make this confrontation inevitable. Gralton reopens the “hall” and his fame quickly spreads once again. However, there is a significant faction determined to thwart Jimmy’s increasing influence and progressive ideas.
